MTIANZ launched July 2017 in response to the process of Standards development and a burgeoning industry due to a rising number of properties, assets, property owners, property occupants and related industries that are increasingly affected by Methamphetamine contamination.

The manufacture and consumption of Methamphetamine continues to be a growing concern and MTIANZ provides technical confidence, information, knowledge and a voice for and in those involved in Testing Property for Methamphetamine Contamination.
MTIANZ was formally incorporated on the 24th May 2017 as a voluntary, not for profit association. The primary objective of the association is to promote professionalism of Methamphetamine testing service provision within our membership.

​This will ultimately give the consumer confidence that when they are dealing with an MTIANZ member, they are dealing with a professional.

​The Association encourages members to develop a better understanding of the responsibilities and duties imposed by the latest Industry Standards and best trade practices. To achieve this, the association facilitates opportunities for the members to meet, correspond and interchange knowledge relevant to the meth testing industry.

Membership

Membership is offered to applicants that hold recognised qualifications in accordance with industry standards NZS8510:2017 and the type of MTIANZ membership held. There are two types of membership offered for practising methamphetamine sampling companies. A Certified member and Accredited member. Both these types of memberships ensures the consumer is adequately protected by employing a suitably qualified professional for the service requested.  MTIANZ also ensures current members hold relevant insurances to ensure consumer protection from negligent advice.

MTIANZ Purpose

To provide education, resources, and advocacy to those involved in, interested in and affected by Methamphetamine Testing.

The Association intends to review, promote and or lobby for Legislation and Standards, which will provide safe and healthy living environments for our community, and to provide a reference point for the Public and the Media. 

​We will endeavour to provide a base for information sharing and validation which will provide its members with a wealth of information to assist them to promote and better their profession.

We are dedicated to:

  • Promote a positive industry image
  • Facilitate ongoing professional development
  • Promotion Industry Standards NZS8510:2017
  • Excellence in business ethics.
  • Respond to industry needs and concerns
  • Promote best practice and actively participate in ongoing review of existing Standards implementation
  • Work with government and regulatory agencies on issues affecting the sampling and analysis of methamphetamine contamination
  • Foster the transfer and networking of industry technology and information through annual meeting forums and regular special interest workshops
  • Provide continuing education by supporting and publishing technical journals, papers and encourage opportunities for professional development
  • Develop relationships with allied associations and industry
  • Promote environmental safety and occupational health
